Since 1985, Rose of Sharon Services for Young Mothers has supported pregnant and parenting youth by providing free education and comprehensive support programs to over 300 young families each year.

Our mission is to empower young mothers to achieve the future they envision for themselves and their children. We offer a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment through a blend of onsite and online programming that helps young parents continue their education, set meaningful goals, and develop essential life and parenting skills.

At our Newmarket centre, students from across York Region can complete their high school education at York Academy, an accredited York Catholic District School Board classroom onsite. Individualized learning plans enable students to succeed academically while managing the responsibilities of parenthood.

Rose of Sharon also provides prenatal nutrition, child development, and parenting programs, along with counseling, workshops, onsite child-minding, nutritious meals, and transportation support—removing barriers to participation and improving outcomes for both mothers and children.

For vulnerable families, our Food Pantry and Practical Supports provide essential assistance through monthly Family Care Packages that include groceries, baby food. and supplies, hygiene products, and family clothing. These programs are made possible entirely through the generosity of donors, volunteers, and community partners.
